I had to rebuild the VM and upload the world.  This is why it took so long.

The minecraft server has been down all week.  I apologize for this.  Last Sunday night I attempted to upgrade the myMCadmin panel to the latest version.  This crashed the entire server.  This is the second time this has happened.  Last time I restarted the VM and I was able to get the server running.  This time I could not.  I sent a help ticket to support.

I will keep you updated.

The server has been upgraded to 1.4.4.

The desire to play with the latest version got the best of me.  Since Bukkit will not have a version for 1.4.2 for a while, I decided to remove the Bukkit  mod system (since I have no mods running) and install the official 1.4.2 server.

Until Bukkit comes out with a new server upgrade, I am staying at 1.4.2.

Yesterday 10/25/2012 the Minecraft server was down from about noon till 10pm.

This was from a myMCadmin console upgrade.  I did not notice until a user sent me a text notifying me later in the evening.

I restarted the VM, and at that time, I migrated the server to a Bukkit server.  This means the server will not take advantage of the 1.4 upgrade that came out yesterday.  We will need to wait until the Bukkit community comes out with the 1.4 update.

I will be configuring the Minecraft server for named access only.  This means anonymous access will be turned off.  Please sign up for membership on this blog and reply to this post.  I will add you to the list.

In the future, membership will only be granted by word of mouth.
